Outpost Siege

Bloomburrow Commander rare

Enchantment

As this enchantment enters, choose Khans or Dragons. • Khans — At the beginning of your upkeep, exile the top card of your library. Until end of turn, you may play that card. • Dragons — Whenever a creature you control leaves the battlefield, this enchantment deals 1 damage to any target.

Strategy & Gameplay

Outpost Siege is a versatile four-mana red enchantment that offers two distinct modes of value depending on your deck's strategy and game plan. Upon entering the battlefield, you choose between Khans or Dragons, giving you flexibility to adapt to your current matchup or optimize for your specific deck archetype. The Khans mode excels in aggressive and tempo strategies by providing consistent card advantage through exile effects, allowing you to play cards from the top of your library each turn, which effectively gives you extra resources without drawing cards and synergizes beautifully with aggressive strategies that want to spend their mana efficiently. The Dragons mode transforms Outpost Siege into a damage engine that punishes opponents whenever your creatures leave the battlefield, making it particularly powerful in sacrifice-heavy strategies featuring cards that intentionally send creatures to the graveyard, whether through death triggers or self-sacrifice mechanics. This makes it especially valuable in Modern and Pioneer formats where dedicated sacrifice decks thrive on creatures entering and leaving the battlefield. In Commander and Brawl, both modes provide sustained value in the longer game, with Khans offering card advantage that builds throughout the game and Dragons punishing opponents for removing your threats. The card's flexibility, reasonable mana cost, and ability to generate incremental advantage make it an excellent inclusion in red aggro decks, mono-red strategies, and any archetype that values either impulsive card draw or sacrifice synergies. Across all formats where it's legal, from Vintage to Pioneer, Outpost Siege represents a solid investment for players seeking a reliable source of card advantage or damage.
