Magitek Infantry

Final Fantasy common

Artifact Creature — Robot Soldier

This creature gets +1/+0 as long as you control another artifact. {2}{W}: Search your library for a card named Magitek Infantry, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.

P/T: 1/1

These cybersoldiers were specifically engineered to excel in combat, and serve as the powerhouse of the imperial infantry.

Strategy & Gameplay

Magitek Infantry is a versatile one-mana artifact creature that serves as a building block for white-based artifact strategies across multiple formats. As a 1/1 Robot Soldier, this card becomes a 2/1 efficient attacker whenever you control another artifact, making it a natural fit for artifact-heavy deck archetypes that can easily satisfy this condition. What makes Magitek Infantry particularly compelling is its activated ability, which allows you to pay two generic and one white mana to search your library for another copy of Magitek Infantry and put it onto the battlefield tapped. This tutoring ability transforms the card into a tutoring engine in the right shells, enabling explosive turns where you can assemble multiple copies simultaneously and threaten significant board presence. Players should consider this card for white weenie artifact strategies, Boros or Azorius artifact decks, and any list looking to leverage artifact synergies with minimal mana investment. The card's extensive format legality spanning Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Pauper, Vintage, Commander, and multiple limited formats means it has applications across virtually any competitive environment. In Commander and casual formats especially, the ability to repeatedly tutor copies creates interesting toolbox potential. While not a powerhouse by itself, Magitek Infantry excels as a role player that enables consistency and acts as a legitimate threat when piloted correctly within dedicated artifact decks.
