Legendary Creature — Dinosaur
Haste When Itzquinth enters, you may pay {2}. When you do, target Dinosaur you control deals damage equal to its power to another target creature.
"Dinosaurs have no concept of royalty, but they recognize the scent of the mightiest among them." —Atla Palani, nest tender
Itzquinth, Firstborn of Gishath is a dynamic two-mana legendary creature that brings immediate pressure and versatile removal potential to any Dinosaur-focused strategy. As a 2/3 with haste, it enters the battlefield ready to attack on the same turn it's cast, allowing aggressive decks to maintain tempo while setting up for subsequent turns. The real value lies in its triggered ability, which offers flexible interaction by converting your existing Dinosaur threats into targeted removal. By paying an additional two mana when Itzquinth enters the battlefield, you can select any Dinosaur you control and have it deal damage equal to its power to another creature, effectively turning your board presence into pinpoint removal without requiring combat. This makes it particularly effective in Limited formats where board states can stall, but it also finds homes in Constructed play across multiple formats including Standard, Pioneer, Modern, and Commander. The card synergizes beautifully within dedicated Dinosaur decks that already feature large creatures, enabling you to eliminate blockers or opposing threats while advancing your own game plan. In Commander, Itzquinth functions as both a utility creature and a strategic piece in Gishath-themed or Gruul stompy strategies. Its legal status across Standard, Historic, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, and all Commander variants means you can build around it at virtually any competitive or casual level. For players seeking a reasonably costed legendary that contributes both offense and removal while fitting snugly into existing Dinosaur archetypes, Itzquinth represents excellent value and tactical flexibility.
