TCG Playability
Legendary Creature — Human Knight
Whenever you attack, you may discard a card. When you do, put a +1/+1 counter on target attacking creature. It gains trample until end of turn. Whenever you discard one or more cards, exile the top card of your library. You may play that card until your next end step.
Inti, Seneschal of the Sun is a compelling two-mana legendary creature that bridges aggressive strategies with card advantage engines, making it particularly valuable in discard-focused decks and tempo-oriented red strategies. The card's first ability creates a consistent combat trick that synergizes perfectly with attack-based strategies, allowing you to pump an attacking creature while generating incremental value through forced discard. The key strength lies in the second ability, which transforms your discards into exiled cards you can play, effectively turning what would be resource loss into genuine card advantage. This makes Inti an ideal commander or key piece in decks built around discard outlets and looting mechanics, such as those featuring Faithless Looting, Ledger Shredder, or similar effects. The card fits seamlessly into red's traditional aggressive shell while rewarding you for playing the kind of discard spells that red decks already want to run anyway. From a competitive perspective, Inti works exceptionally well in Pioneer and Modern where discard-heavy strategies like Murktide decks or Murktide-adjacent shells already exist, giving those decks a threatening creature that incentivizes their core mechanics. In Commander, it functions as a stellar partner in Brawl formats and serves as both a respectable threat and value engine in Commander decks helmed by other legends or built around themes like forced discard, treasure generation, and spell velocity. The combination of evasion potential through trample, cost efficiency at just two mana, and the card advantage engine makes Inti a card that provides immediate board presence while scaling into the mid and late game through pure card advantage, rewarding players who build their decks intentionally around these mechanics.
