Creature — Phyrexian Cleric
Toxic 1 (Players dealt combat damage by this creature also get a poison counter.) When this creature enters, you may return another permanent you control to its owner's hand. If you do, create a 1/1 colorless Phyrexian Mite artifact creature token with toxic 1 and "This token can't block."
Indoctrination Attendant is a versatile creature that brings both evasive damage and value generation to white-based strategies in Magic the Gathering. As a 3/4 body for four mana, it provides solid defensive stats while dealing poison damage through its toxic 1 ability, making it a key piece in aggressive poison-focused decks that can close out games faster than traditional life total reduction. The real power, however, lies in its enter-the-battlefield effect, which allows you to return another permanent you control to your hand while generating a 1/1 Phyrexian Mite token with toxic 1 and evasion. This creates multiple strategic lines of play: you can bounce utility creatures that benefit from repeated casting, reset permanent-based strategies, generate additional poison counters, or simply generate repeated value over the course of the game. The token generation aspect makes this card particularly attractive in limited formats where incremental damage adds up quickly, while the bounce effect slots perfectly into blink and flicker strategies in formats like Pioneer, Modern, and Commander, where cards like Soulherder, Ephemerate, or Restoration Angel can amplify the card's impact. In Commander, it pairs exceptionally well with commanders that reward entering the battlefield effects or proliferate strategies. The combination of poison synergy, value generation, and flexible gameplay makes Indoctrination Attendant an excellent addition to white decks looking to pressure opponents through unconventional damage sources while maintaining board presence and card advantage through its reusable enter-the-battlefield trigger.
