Strategy & Gameplay

Hand That Feeds is an exciting red creature from Duskmourn that offers aggressive players a compelling option for low-cost threats with explosive upside potential. As a two-mana 2/2 creature, it enters the battlefield as a reasonable body on its own, but its true power lies in its delirium ability, which transforms it into a formidable attacker when your graveyard contains four or more card types. Once delirium is active, this creature gains a significant +2/+0 boost and menace until end of turn, meaning it becomes a 4/2 unblockable attacker except by multiple creatures—a devastating advantage in most board states. This card slots naturally into graveyard-focused strategies and midrange decks that already incentivize filling your graveyard with diverse card types through mill, self-discard, and cantrips. Hand That Feeds works exceptionally well in Pioneer and Modern formats where delirium decks have established shells, and it's particularly valuable in Standard where efficiently costed threats are always premium. The card rewards deck building by encouraging you to play a variety of permanent types and instants alongside creatures and sorceries, making it ideal for decks running artifact synergies, enchantment strategies, or flashback mechanics. Pauper players should note its legality in that format as well, where it could provide aggressive decks with a strong turn-two play. For players seeking an efficient, scalable threat that punishes opponents for having a well-constructed graveyard strategy, Hand That Feeds delivers consistent value and pressure while fitting seamlessly into multiple competitive and casual archetypes across numerous formats.
