Enchantment
When this enchantment enters, create a 2/2 red Soldier creature token with firebending 1. Whenever a creature you control attacking causes a triggered ability of that creature to trigger, put a quest counter on this enchantment. Then if it has four or more quest counters on it, you may copy that ability. You may choose new targets for the copy.
Firebender Ascension is a versatile enchantment that rewards aggressive red strategies with both immediate board presence and scaling value throughout the game. At just one generic and one red mana, this efficient piece enters the battlefield immediately generating a 2/2 Soldier token with firebending, providing early tempo while you set up your primary game plan. The true power emerges from its triggered ability, which encourages you to build around creatures with attack triggers—a mechanic that naturally synergizes with red's aggressive instincts. Every time one of your attacking creatures triggers an ability during combat, you accumulate quest counters, and upon reaching four counters, you unlock the ability to copy that triggered ability with full control over new targets. This creates explosive turns where your existing synergies multiply, potentially generating additional damage, tokens, or direct effects depending on your deck construction. Firebender Ascension fits seamlessly into several archetypes: aggressive token strategies that leverage go-wide approaches, creature-heavy burn decks that rely on combat triggers and ETB effects, and dedicated firebending tribal decks that build around the creature type. Its broad format legality across Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Commander, and beyond makes it accessible regardless of your preferred play environment. Players should consider this card when building decks that naturally feature attacking creatures with triggered abilities, as it transforms redundant triggers into overwhelming value without requiring additional resources beyond your normal combat phase.
