Legendary Creature — Human Ranger
Vigilance Whenever Cass or another creature you control dies, if it was enchanted or equipped, return any number of Aura cards that were attached to it from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to target creature, then attach any number of Equipment that were attached to it to that creature.
This versatile four-mana legendary creature from Pirate's Pinecove offers an innovative approach to enchantment and equipment-focused strategies by turning creature death into a resource rather than a loss. With a solid 4/3 body and vigilance, Cass can attack freely without sacrificing defensive capabilities, making it both an aggressive threat and a utility engine. The true power lies in its triggered ability: whenever Cass or any creature you control equipped or enchanted with Auras and Equipment dies, you recur those cards directly onto the battlefield, attaching Auras to a target creature and Equipment to that same or different creature. This mechanic is particularly synergistic in Naya (Red-White-Green) and Mardu (Red-White-Black) builds that naturally incorporate sacrifice outlets and equipment packages, as well as Aura-heavy strategies like Bogles variants and Enchantress decks. Players would want Cass because it solves a fundamental problem in these archetypes: the card disadvantage that comes from losing invested enchantments and equipment. Instead of going down resources when a creature dies, you're actually generating value and maintaining board presence, essentially turning your equipped creatures into recurring sources of Auras and Equipment. The card is particularly potent in Legacy and Commander formats where equipment-centric strategies like Stoneforge Mystic shells and enchantment-based midrange decks thrive. In Commander specifically, Cass works excellently as a commander itself or as a supporting creature in the 99, immediately providing a defensive line with vigilance while offering explosive potential when combined with sacrifice synergies, sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer, or protection effects that still allow creature death triggers.
