Strategy & Gameplay

Bayek of Siwa is a powerhouse legendary creature from the Assassin's Creed crossover set that brings explosive damage potential to any Boros or Mardu-colored deck built around historic creatures and aggressive strategies. This 3/4 flyer costs three generic, one red, and one white mana, making it reasonably costed for its impact. The card's primary appeal lies in its double strike ability, which it grants not only to itself but to all other historic creatures you control during your turn. This creates an immediate and significant damage multiplier in decks packed with artifacts, enchantments, and historic creatures, turning your board presence into lethal threats in just a few turns. The disguise mechanic adds flexibility to Bayek's deployment, allowing you to cast it face-down for just three generic mana as a 2/2 with ward two, providing evasion and flexibility in how you sequence your threats. This is particularly valuable in formats where tempo matters or when you need to protect your commander investment. Bayek fits naturally into several established archetypes across multiple formats. In Commander, it excels as either a commander itself or as a supporting threat in Boros or Mardu decks focused on historic creatures like Karn, the Great Creator strategies or artifact-heavy builds. In Modern and Legacy, it slots into tempo and midrange strategies that leverage artifacts and creatures with historic synergies. The card's format legality across Modern, Legacy, Vintage, Commander, and Oathbreaker makes it a valuable include for players invested in multiple formats. You want this card because it offers both reliable threat density and format-appropriate power levels, turning your existing board into a damage machine while the disguise mechanic provides strategic depth and surprise factor in competitive play.
